Optimis secures significant reduction in CIL liability on a part self-build project in London

Permission had previously been granted for a two storey extension and conversion of existing house to provide 4 self contained apartments. The Council had calculated the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) for the scheme as being in excess of £67,000 and issued the liability notice to the client.

Optimis was able to secure a reduction of over £40,000, as two of the four apartments classified for the self-build exemption. Optimis worked with the Council to re-calculate the CIL liability and amend the relevant CIL forms as necessary.
