Further clarity in Neighbourhood Planning

With growing numbers of local communities producing Neighbourhood Plans, it is increasingly important to provide clarity and consistency in the examination process. New guidance detailing the examination process for Neighbourhood Plans was published in March 2018.

Prepared by the Neighbourhood Planning Independent Examiner Referral Service (NPIERS), the guidance is to be used by both local communities and local planning authorities alike.

Including detailed technical guidance, flowcharts, specific recommendations and a series of guiding principles relevant to both community groups and local planning authorities, it is hoped that the take up of Neighbourhood Plans will continue to increase. Full details of the guidance can be found here.
