Update on the Chilterns Beechwoods Special Area of Conservation (SAC)

On the 22nd June a Chilterns Beechwoods SAC Briefing Session was held by Dacorum Borough Council, which offered us some insight into their planned mitigation methods going forward.

The main outcomes of this session are as follows:

• Dacorum are unhappy with the situation and are keen to resolve delays alongside relevant local authorities, Natural England and the National Trust
• They have put forward three mitigation methods in order to do so. These are Strategic Access Management Monitoring (SAMM), Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space (SANG) and a ‘Gateway’ solution.
• Restrictions will be lifted in some areas as early as August, these have not yet been identified
