South West Herts Joint Strategic Plan

Neighboring authorities Dacorum Borough Council, St Albans City and District Council, Three Rivers District Council, Watford Borough Council and Hertsmere Borough Council are preparing a Joint Strategic Plan (JSP) for the South West Hertfordshire area. The Joint Strategic Plan will provide a long-term framework for the area to 2050 and is currently undergoing its first stages of consultation.
The five year housing land supply position of the local authorities involved varies significantly, however, 4 out of the 5 administrative areas involved present significant deficits in housing land supply falling well below the minimum 5 year requirement. The extent to which the plan will respond to the under supply throughout the area is yet to be made clear but the initial documentation suggests this plan will address the need for housing and large scale growth in later stages of the consultation process, hopefully, providing the opportunity for the promotion of sites in the area.
Initial consultation on the South West Herts Joint Strategic Plan is currently under way. The authorities are currently seeking feedback on a draft vision and objectives for the area.
