Revised National Planning Policy Framework 2021

Following consultations on revisions to the NPPF earlier this year (see our previous blog published in April) an updated version of the NPPF was released yesterday.
Most changes made are relatively minor, including updated wording relating to ambitions to improve the environment and mitigate against climate change, with the focus shifted towards designing beautiful places. Guidance is included for the use of Article 4 directions and with an extra Annex included relating to Flood Risk Vulnerability.
It looks to be a seemingly slow start to the Governments’ promised reform of the planning system. The revised version can be found at the following link:
