public consultation / engagement

Early and sustained stakeholder engagement can be the difference between achieving planning permission and not. Our experience in public consultation enables our clients to benefit from a tailored stakeholder engagement strategy to support development.

We identify relevant stakeholders who should be consulted and attend meetings with clients or on their behalf. We are experienced in representing clients at town and parish council meetings.

We are experienced and happy to attend workshops, exhibitions, consultation events and meetings on behalf of the client, to present the case to the community. Sometimes that involves difficult conversations but our experience in dealing with residents is an important skill that we offer. We provide the opportunity to diffuse the objectors and create positive outcomes and prevent the need for our clients to be placed in any awkward situations.

We can provide a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) to accompany your planning application which documents our engagement with the community and various stakeholders.

We have been very successful in providing a community engagement service for many housebuilders and this has led to many planning applications being granted consent under delegated powers early, rather than a drawn-out debate through the committee process.

We have a strong record of creating positive working relationships with even the most sceptical groups. We aim to create understanding relationships with stakeholders based on our history of serving our own communities. We learn about the local context and issues facing a community to understand representatives’ concerns.

We also understand that securing development doesn’t have to be negative for communities and we aim to find solutions which are beneficial to developers and the community.
