Planning Portal set to introduce Financial Transaction Service
In early September 2018, the Planning Portal will be introducing a Financial Transaction Service. This service will be entirely managed by the Planning Portal and would allow payment of the relevant application fee directly through the Planning Portal at the time the application is submitted.
The aim of this service is to simplify the process and increase the efficiency of payment for a planning application. Initially the charge for this service has been set at a fixed fee of £20.00 (including VAT).
Importantly, the existing options for paying planning application fees will remain active, meaning that cheque and phone payments directly to the Council can still be made, which would not incur this additional charge.
