Planning permission granted for pub conversion and small residential development in Shillington

Optimis is delighted to have secured planning permission for the construction of 2 dwellings and the conversion of the existing public house into one dwelling on land that is currently occupied by The Noah’s Ark Public House at Hillfoot Road in Shillington.

Despite local opposition to the loss of the pub, the application provided clear justification that the pub is no longer viable and its conversion and the construction of additional two dwellings in the former parking area to convince Central Bedfordshire Council to grant consent.

Furthermore, the proposed development demonstrated that the use and layout of the scheme are entirely appropriate for the context without having an adverse impact on the immediate/wider context or the amenity of nearby residential properties, and as such the LPA was satisfied with the proposed scheme and granted planning permission.
