Planning consent granted from Central Bedfordshire Council for 30 dwellings

Optimis is extremely delighted to have secured planning permission from Central Bedfordshire Council, on behalf of our client Haut Ltd., for 30 dwellings, two accesses, sustainable urban drainage and associated landscaping within the Green Belt, subject to the completion of the S106 agreement.

Planning consent was granted by unanimous approval by the Planning Committee on the 31st January 2018, following recommendation from the officer for approval. Optimis secured the recommendation from officers, following extensive negotiation whilst additionally overturning the officers earlier thoughts for the refusal of the scheme.

Optimis demonstrated that Very Special Circumstances prevailed and subject to agreement of a section 106, the scheme will deliver essential housing for the Council.

This development will act as a stimulus for further development in the area, contributing to the large scale development that is planned for the Houghton Regis North area.
