Planning consent for community facilities on a site in Lower Stondon

Optimis is delighted to have secured planning consent for community facilities on a site in Lower Stondon. The application was for revised community facilities which include the demolition of the existing sports pavilion and the creation of a new combined community facility (sports pavilion and village hall) and a tennis court. This application supersedes the previous planning consent for two separate community facilities following concerns around the deliverability of the previous scheme.

Optimis has worked in collaboration with the local community, and specifically the Parish Council and Stondon Recreation Association, for a number of years in order to design facilities which meet the needs and requirements of the local community. This facility will be a multi-functional building allowing a greater range of modern facilities for the community including dedicated areas for the Stompers, Parish Council and local football teams.

Proactive discussions were additionally held throughout both the preparation of and duration of the revised application with the Local Planning Authority (Central Bedfordshire) allowing the scheme to gain a positive outcome at Officer level.
