Part Retrospective Planning Permission Secured for Agricultural Barn in Central Bedfordshire

Optimis is delighted to have successfully secured part retrospective planning permission for the retention of an agricultural barn and erection of an additional bay for secure storage on a site in Central Bedfordshire. Despite the site’s location in the Green Belt, Optimis demonstrated that the purpose-made, functional building was an exception to inappropriate development in the Green Belt and necessary for the continued farm operation on the site.

It was emphasised that the barn provides an important facility for the keeping of livestock and the provision of a covered space to be used during the lambing season. Following intensive discussions with the LPA, the Council proceeded to approve the application.
