Optimis has successfully negotiated the removal of a condition
Optimis is pleased to announce that planning permission was secured for the removal of a condition that was restricting the use of a 1-bedroom unit in the rear garden of a house in Meppershall. The original permission specified that the new unit shall only be used as an annexe and not be occupied as a separate or self-contained dwelling unit.
Despite the Council’s initial concern about creating a separate dwelling, Optimis successfully convinced Officers that the condition is no longer required, and after the provision of additional supporting details, the proposal was considered acceptable in light of prevailing planning policy and relevant appeal decisions.
The removal of the condition, to enable independent occupation of the annexe, meets the definition of sustainable development and does not result in harmful impact on the character and appearance of the area or residential amenity.
