Optimis secures consent to develop 16 new homes in Luton

In December 2018 Optimis secured the redevelopment of an industrial site on land to the north of Luton Town Centre. Located in High Town, an area of regeneration north of the main Railway Station, Optimis has secured a development to deliver 16 new 1 and 2 bed apartments in two buildings. Working with MHA architects we successfully presented a scheme that varied from the High Town Masterplan for the area but delivered a 100% private development to meet an overwhelming need for small homes. The affordable contributions were provided as a commuted sum and through a robust viability assessment we were able to demonstrate that the financial contributions proposed by the Council could be reduced to ensure that the scheme was viable. The officers supported the proposals and consent secured through committee approval. This is third project that we are working on in this Area of Regeneration and we welcome further instructions.
