Luton Borough Council seeks to introduce an Article 4 Direction revoking permitted development rights for the change of use form office to residential

On 28th February 2019, Luton Borough Council introduced an Article 4 Direction restricting permitted development rights, for the conversion of office to residential accommodation in a number of locations across the Borough.

The commencement of the Article 4 Direction is proposed for 1st March 2020, subject to representations received within the consultation period. If bought into effect, planning permission will be required for the change of use of office to residential units within the areas designated with an Article 4 Direction, removing the rights for permitted development as set out under Class O of the General Permitted Development Order (GPDO).

The submission of representations to the council will be required prior to the conclusion of the consultation period on the 28th March 2019. If you require Optimis’ assistance in the preparation of representation for submission to Luton Borough Council with respect to the above, please contact us on the 01234 330624 or email enquiries@optimis-consulting.co.uk.
