Have your say on Housing Minister Nick Raynsford review of the planning system

Former Housing Minister Nick Raynsford has published the interim findings for his review of the planning system.

The link to the report can be found here

The interim report aims to promote debate about the future of the planning system in England and its current performance. The report states that legal framework underpinning the planning system has become “more complex and confused” and claims that persistent changes to planning legislation have left the system powerless to defend the public interest. Raynsford calls for a people-centred planning system that delivers coordination and certainty to developers and communities.

The report ends by offering a series of provisional propositions that will help to inform the recommendations of the final report, which is expected to be published in Autumn 2018.

The review welcomes responses to these propositions, and you can email the review team at raynsfordreview@tcpa.org.uk .
