Growth slows as UK house prices show modest increase

On the 7th June Halifax released an update to their House Price Index. The study revealed that in the three months leading up to May 2018 UK house prices were 1.9% higher when compared to the figures during the same three months in the previous year, yet growth was slower than the 2.2% annual growth in April. The average UK house price is currently at £224,439 registering an increase of nearly £4000 since May when it was recorded at £220,962. The current average price also shows a change of +0.2% since the last quarter (December-February) reflecting a relatively sombre UK housing market.
