Attending the Ecology Expo in Warwickshire on the 18th and 19th of March 2026 was a brilliant opportunity to see just how quickly our field is evolving. The event showcased an impressive range of cutting edge technology, from advanced thermal cameras to drones—innovations that are already transforming the way we approach ecological surveys. Seeing these technologies in action was not only exciting but inspiring, reaffirming how vital modern tools are for improving accuracy and efficiency in our work.

It was also fantastic to meet so many fellow ecologists, share experiences, and learn about the workflows others are developing across the sector. The event provided a great space for networking, comparing methods, and discussing how we can all raise the bar for ecological practice. It was great to connect with others who are similarly focused on practical, forward thinking approaches.
