Delays in Bedford’s new Local Plan?
In light of the deliverability issues announced with the allocation of Colmworth as a Garden Village within the emerging Bedford Local Plan 2035, the agenda for the upcoming Executive Committee on 16th May has been published.

The recommendations are that the Executive Committee considers the report, including the main issues raised during the Regulation 19 consultation, and if satisfied:
1. Does not recommend to Full Council that the ‘Plan for Submission’ version of the Local Plan 2035 be submitted to the Secretary of State for public examination.
2. Agrees that Officers should carry out additional work on the evidence base to support an amended Plan for Submission, prior to carrying out a second Regulation 19 consultation.
3. Agrees the update to the Local Development Scheme.
