Consultation Now Open for Draft Local Plan for West Northamptonshire Council
West Northamptonshire Council has begun its Regulation 18 consultation on the Draft Local Plan.
The new Plan will guide development in the area for the period up to 2043 and will replace the current West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy (Part 1) and the Part 2 Local Plans, which were adopted for the former Daventry, Northampton and South Northamptonshire areas.
The consultation runs from 29th January 2026 until 27th March 2026.
Why does it matter for landowners and developers?
The draft Plan identifies opportunities and locations for proposed housing, employment and mixed-use development sites across the area, as well as places proposed for designated protection. This consultation allows stakeholders to:
- Promote potential development sites
- Respond to proposed designations or allocations
- Respond to emerging policy
