A Season of Growth as a Junior Ecologist

As another busy ecology survey season comes to an end, I am looking forward to returning to university shortly to continue my studies. It is hard to believe how quickly the season has passed, and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to return to Optimis Consulting for another year as a Junior Ecologist.

This season has been a great opportunity to build on the experience I gained during my first year with Optimis. I have been involved in a range of ecological surveys, further developing my skills in survey methodology, species identification and ecological data collection. I have also gained more experience in processing and analysing survey data and contributing to projects across the wider ecology and environmental consultancy team.

Alongside my technical development, working with colleagues, clients and other professionals has helped me to become more confident in a professional environment and develop my communication skills. It has also given me a greater insight into the role of an ecologist and how ecological information is used to support development and environmental projects.

I would like to thank everyone at Optimis Consulting for their continued support and guidance throughout another rewarding survey season. The experience I have gained will be valuable as I return to university and continue working towards a career in ecology and environmental consultancy.

I look forward to taking what I have learnt this season back into my studies and continuing to develop my skills and experience within the sector.
